After On is a podcast I began as a sort of spin-out from my novel of the same title. These days I’m lucky to squeeze out a single episode a year. The reason is I typically prepare 40–50 hours to interview the world-class scientists who comprise most of my guests. I try to learn each of their fields deeply enough to structure an interview that conveys the bulk of what I learned to my listeners in about two hours. This is incredibly labor-intensive!
But it’s also a feast for the mind and an absolute joy – because my guests are almost like tutors, guiding me to the papers, lectures, and books necessary to truly understand their work. Someday I’m sure I’ll return my full attention to it. Meanwhile, there could be ways to integrate it with my life, and the investing work I love. So consider following it on your favorite podcasting app if you enjoy it. It won’t fall permanently silent until I do.
